World of Warcraft, The Magazine

220wowmag.jpgThe popular online role-playing game World of Warcraft is going analog, at least in a supplementary capacity. WOW parent company Blizzard Entertainment has partnered with UK-based Future Publishing to create World of Warcraft, The Magazine.

The mag will be introduced to the public today in Anaheim at the BlizzCon convention. BlizzCon, in case you were wondering, is a convention held by Blizzard Entertainment that the company calls “a celebration” of their gaming franchises. Tickets to the sold-out convention cost $125 each, which is approximately 166 times what people don’t want to pay for the LA Times.

Once at the convention, attendees will have the opportunity to be among the first to subscribe to the new quarterly magazine. The mag won’t feature any ads, unless you consider the publication itself to be a big, giant ad. A big, giant ad that costs $40 a year. Hells bells, these people must be raking in the dough.
