A Tale of Two Contractors

Strange world we live in. Today, the following things happened:

PJ Gach, who was acting as interim senior editor at Shecky’s for the past three months on contract, was let go last week. Gach had hoped the freelance gig would turn into a full-time position: “Since I moved to New York in 2000, all I’ve wanted was to work on staff [at a publication],” she told our colleagues at FishbowlNY.

And in DC, a senior Web producer at Politico is leaving for a temporary contract gig at ABC News. FishbowlDC reports that Jackie Klingebiel will be filling in as a digital producer for George Stephanopoulos while staffer Jennifer Parker is on maternity leave.
