AOL News Has A New GM

Jonathan Dube, the former v.p. of ABCNews.com, is moving to AOL to serve as general manager of AOL News, according to AOL’s Saul Hansell.

Hansell took a New York Times buyout last year and was the first editorial hire AOL made when launching its Seed freelance platform. Dube, in addition to his work with ABC News, is the founder of CyberJournalist.net.

He’ll report to David Eun, president of AOL Media & Studios, and supervise AOL News, Tech, Finance and Sports.

“At the heart of my passion for journalism is my long-time interest in how technology is transforming the media,” said Dube in a statement. “I believe AOL is better positioned than any other company today to marry innovative technology with high-quality original journalism in a way that creates the best online experience imaginable.”
