Who knew the unemployment rate could fetch between $20,000 and $30,000? This isn’t just any ol’ jobless rate, mind you.

According to Christie’s Web site, they’re auctioning off an Andy Warhol piece of art representing the rate from 1980 to 1984.

Although it’s not open to bidders until late February, the synethic polymer on paper (a.k.a., a drawing) was created in 1984. If the seasonally adjusted rate is any indication in the artwork, it looks like the rate peaked in 1982 and then subsided in ’84.
