Dow Jones To Launch WSJ ‘Professional’ At $49/Month

“The targeted users are businesses and individuals who need more specialized information about energy or corporate bonds, for example, than is available from WSJ.com, but aren’t the large companies targeted for costlier services by Dow Jones Newswires or Bloomberg L.P.,” the WSJ reports.

WSJ Professional will give users more in-depth news and feeds—like from the Dow Jones newswire—than are currently available on WSJ.com.

The service will cost $49 a month for an individual subscription (compared to about $12 a month for the “regular” Wall Street Journal), though companies buying more than one subscription will receive a discount.

In comparison, a Bloomberg terminal costs upwards of $1,500 monthly.

Beginning next month, business professionals and execs can subscribe to WSJ Premium for use at work; the service will open up in January.
