Edit-Side Cuts At The Bee: Seven
The Sacramento Bee announced last month that it was cutting 25 jobs, its fourth series of cuts in 18 months. Now, via the Bee’s Guild blog, we’ve learned the names of the edit-side staffers who will be leaving:
Copy editors: Rick Nelson and Paul Clegg
Page designers: Lisa Williams and Shawn Barcoft
Assistant sports editors: Ahmed Ortiz and Bob Rudy
Photographer Anne Williams will be departing in a matter of weeks.
Ed Fletcher, chair of the newsroom unit of the guild, added: “While they range in age and experience, they were all top-notch journalists that The Bee will miss.”
