First On MediaJobsDaily: Pay Freezes At Bloomsbury USA
Sounds like the cold atmosphere at Bloomsbury isn’t just due to the need for a space heater (we hear it can get pretty chilly in the 100+ year-old Flatiron Building): The company’s instituted a pay freeze for an unspecified amount of time.
Publishing director George Gibson told us through a spokesperson: “Yes we have a pay freeze, it’s a corporate decision, it’s no indication
of any concern, we’re having a solid year and are excited about
prospects in 2010.”
Two of Bloomsbury’s recent books, Methland and The Lost Child, made the New York Times’ list of notable books for 2009.
