Hiring Demand’s Trending Up, Signaling Possible Recovery

Hiring demand has been growing 3.6% a month for the past four months as measured by WANTED Analytics’ Hiring Demand system, which takes into account the number of job ads posted on various boards.

This puts monthly ad volume at about 70,000 for the largest markets, down from 100,000 ads or so in 2007.

Most industries are posting ads, WANTED reports, including management, legal, business/finance, and sales.

Granted, some of these ads could be for “phantom jobs” (which we’ll talk about in a future post) but it does cost money to post job ads, so this improvement must mean that somebody, somewhere is hiring.
