In First Bill Watterson Interview In Two Decades, Reclusive Artist Disses Newspapers

Watterson’s art is still copyrighted, and we respect that, so instead have a photo of the TWO MOST ADORABLE CHILDREN IN THE WORLD. This photo was taken by Kevin Lawver on Flickr and is used under a Creative Commons license.
Bill Watterson, creator of Calvin & Hobbes, famous recluse, spoke to Cleveland Plain Dealer reporter John Campanelli via e-mail. (Good job, Campanelli!) It’s believed to be the first interview Watterson has done since 1989. Wow.
And what does Watterson have to say for himself? When Campanelli asked, “How soon after the U.S. Postal Service issues the Calvin stamp will you send a letter with one on the envelope?” Watterson replied:
“Immediately. I’m going to get in my horse and buggy and snail-mail a check for my newspaper subscription.”
Ooohh, burrnnnnn.
But seriously, folks. If you’re a Calvin & Hobbes fan, read read read.
