Katie Couric Might Get ’60 Minutes’ Slot

Katie Couric has been offered a spot on 60 Minutes as part of a package that also includes her hosting a daytime talk show for CBS, the New York Post reports.

According to the Post’s Michael Shain, Couric was supposed to start contributing to the weekly TV magazine back in 2006, when her contract called for her to contribute at least six times a year. That didn’t happen, because “the show’s notoriously prickly producers failed to give her any assignments.”

Giving her the spot on 60 Minutes could “go a long way toward soothing bruised feelings” and could tempt Couric to stay with CBS to do the talk show.
