Land A Journalism Job Before You Even Graduate…Ha Ha
Someone’s dug up a book from 1965 called “Your Career In Journalism” that gives amazing advice to young journalists.
It’s a book “from the days when you could use the words ‘career’ and ‘journalism’ in the same sentence without doubling over in wheezy, painful laughter,” writes Bill Barol at boingboing.net.
Great excerpts from this book, apparently, are not hard to find:
Example: “The journalist enjoys good standing in his community. He is even likely to be held in awe.”
Example #2: “If you are a college graduate in journalism, you may land a job before you even leave the campus.”
Oh dear.
For more (tragic) examples from a book taken out of its time, head on over to the original story.
