Penton Closes Two Titles
It’s a bad week to be employed at a trade magazine: a day after Reed Business Information closed three titles, publisher Penton Media has shuttered the print editions of American Machinist and Welding Design & Fabrication, Folio: reports. The titles will live on at their Web sites, but a company spokesperson declined to comment on headcount.
The “transition to online information delivery for these two brands is a necessary change to best meet the needs of the industry,” group president John DiPaola told Folio.
American Machinist had been published continuously since 1877.
