Even in a world where the “misuse” of “quotation” marks is commonplace, apparently someone still values good writing.

One in four companies assess a writing test before hiring, and it saves companies money in the long run, Workforce reports. Because developing and grading a writing test takes time, but less time than it’d take to turn a poor writer into a good one.

Media pros are typically—even if we’re not writers—excellent communicators, so it’s true what the campus career counselor told all the English majors: people still want people with writing skills.
