Want To Hire Creative People? Call Them Crybabies

This could be called the Offbeat Job Ad Of The Day.

When Nebraska Book Company, a used textbook company, wanted to hire campus reps on nine college campuses, they turned to Facebook.

They tried two ads. The first was titled “Campus Marketing Job” and had a typical description.

The second said “Crybabies Need Not Apply,” and continued: “Free textbooks for the year and great pay.”

Unsurprisingly, the second ad received a majority (65 percent) of the clicks, and the company was able to hire all nine campus reps it needed.

Facebook makes it easy to target ads to a specific demographic, but, as Nebraska Book Company proved, you still have to get their attention.
