With Thomson Reuters Reorg Come New Hires

Along with the moves and (sadly) layoffs that have thus far marked the reorganization of Thomson Reuters come some new hires, reports PaidContent.

Former Dow Jones Newswires president Paul Ingrassia will serve as Adler’s deputy editor in chief and The Daily ME Jim Gaines will now be overseeing ethics, standards and innovation. PaidContent notes that he’s charged with “codifying and enforcing guidelines governing ‘accuracy, fairness, and sound reporting practices.’”

As predicted, Stuart Karle joins as chief operating officer, and Reginald Chua, previously editor-in-chief of The South China Morning Post, will become Reuters’ data editor.

Side note: by our count Gaines is the fifth staffer to leave the Daily, just two months after the iPad newspaper’s launch.
