Yahoo Reorganization Leaves Room For Some New Top Level Execs
When CEO Carol Bartz reorganized Yahoo, yet again, she left some very prominent holes in her top-level executive cabinet. The biggest absence right now is that of CFO Blake Jorgensen who took his leave of the company three weeks ago.
Thankfully lots of high level financial execs are out of jobs right now, so if Bartz does not require her CFO to have a technical background, she really has her pick of candidates.
BoomTown reports that one name which keeps popping up on the short list is former Microsoft dealmaker Bruce Jaffe. After leaving Microsoft in January of 2008, right before the company’s bid for Yahoo went bust, Jaffe has been making a cozy spot for himself at Glam Media.
Bartz will also be looking to fill the role of International Executive. For this, apparently, she has lots of potential candidates yet again. The front runner currently looks to be Joost CEO Mike Volpi, but according to BoomTown he’s on the short list at many web companies.
While organization is still very much in progress, its clear that whomever Bartz chooses, her staff will have to hit the ground running as they must make up for fourth quarter earnings that plunged 48 percent
