500 Blue & Yellow Balloons For ‘Today’

When I heard yesterday that the staff of Good Morning America had sent 500 balloons to 30 Rock to acknowledge Today’s 500-week morning-show win, I wondered if any newspaper columnists would pick it up. “Maybe Lloyd Grove will,” I decided.

Quoting this morning’s Lowdown: “‘Congratulations on 500!’ read the poster-sized card that accompanied the delivery at Rockefeller Center in a 20-foot truck. ‘From Diane [Sawyer], Charlie [Gibson], Robin [Roberts], Tony [Perkins] and Ben [Sherwood] and all of us at Good Morning America.’”

> Also yesterday: People Magazine sent a bunch of cakes to ‘Today,’ and Jim Bell joined the staff in a Champagne toast to their ratings streak…
