A Day In The Life Of John Gibson
The Oklahoman has a day in the life of FNC news anchor and editorialist John Gibson:
| Gibson starts his day at 7 a.m. by reading about 10 newspapers, including the New York Times, USA Today, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Boston Globe, International Herald Tribune, Times of London, the Guardian, and San Francisco Chronicle. “I’m looking for things that jump out at me,” Gibson said. “Then at 9 o’clock I have a meeting with the producer of my show about what I should be doing.” At 10:30 a.m. they discuss guests for his show. By 2 p.m. another meeting sets the show in stone. He then writes his own copy in about five minutes. “I bang these things out pretty quick,” Gibson said. “Somebody somewhere looks at it, I can’t even tell you who, to make sure I’m not creating giant problems with it. Sometimes I’ve been told I’m dancing too close to the line. But I’ve never looked at the copy later and seen it changed.” |
