Abbie Boudreau Moves from CNN to ABC

ABC News has hired away CNN investigative correspondent Abbie Boudreau. Boudreau will be joining ABC News’ Los Angeles bureau beginning Monday.

The award-winning Boudreau joined CNN in October 2007 as an Atlanta-based correspondent in the Special Investigations and Documentary unit. She has worked on multiple CNN special reports, including “Killings at the Canal: The Army Tapes,” “Biden: Revealed,” and “Campus Rage.”

For ABC, Boudreau will be a general assignment reporter joining David Wright and Mike Von Fremd in the L.A. bureau. This is ABC’s first on-air correspondent hire since a massive round of cuts at the network earlier this year that resulted in the elimination of more than 350 positions, including several West Coast correspondent jobs.

The news was first reported by LA news site The Enterprise Report.

I’m pleased to announce that Abbie Boudreau is joining ABC News as a correspondent in the Los Angeles Bureau, reporting for all our broadcasts and platforms. Abbie’s investigative experience and record of strong reporting will be an important addition to our distinguished ABC News team in Los Angeles.

Before joining ABC News, Abbie was an investigative correspondent with CNN. Her work there earned her two national Emmy nominations, a National Headliner Award, a national Clarion Award and the Livingston Award for international reporting. She was also an IRE finalist for an investigative series, “Hurricane Giveaway,” which revealed millions of dollars in supplies intended for the victims of Hurricane Katrina was given away to other government agencies, including prisons.

Before joining CNN in 2007, Boudreau worked as an investigative reporter at ABC’s Phoenix affiliate KNXV-TV and for WWMT-TV in Kalamazoo, MI. She began her career at KWWL-TV in Waterloo, IA.

Please join me in welcoming Abbie to ABC News.
