ABC's Nightline again topped CBS' Late Show with David Letterman last week. The ABC News program beat Letterman in the A25-54 demo but lost in Total Viewers. The Tonight Show with Jay Leno came in first in both measurements.

This is the fifth week in a row Nightline has either beaten or tied (week of July 28) Letterman in the key demo.

Friday's Nightline, featuring Bob Woodruff's exclusive interview with former Sen. John Edwards about his extra-marital affair, averaged a 1.2 rating in A25-54; on par with how the show typically performs but topping Letterman by 100% in the ad-friendly demo.
