ABC’s Diane Sawyer To Interview Malala Yousafzai, Young Girl Shot By Taliban

Just a day after ABC News aired a big primetime interview with Amanda Knox, the network announced another big “get.”

Later this year Diane Sawyer will interview Malala Yousafzai, the 15-year old from Pakistan who was shot by the Taliban because she believed girls have the right to go to school.

Sawyer’s interview will air on all the ABC News shows and platforms in October, tied to the release of a book being written by Yousafzai, I Am Malala. The interview will be a U.S. network exclusive, although the BBC’s Mishal Husain will also be speaking to Yousafzai, for an interview to air around the same time. It will air on BBC World News around the globe, including in the U.S.

Yousafzai, better known simply as “Malala,” made international news after her assassination attempt. She is currently living in the UK.
