ABC’s ‘What Would You Do?’ Kicked Out of Greenwich, CT (Update: Or Not?)

The ABC News primetime series “What Would You Do? has hit a bit of stumble during the filming of its current season. The show was asked to stop filming in Greenwich, Connecticut after being “disruptive.” The show, hosted by John Quinones, is sort of like a serious “Candid Camera,” placing people in murky ethical situations.

Update: After changing the subject matter of the scenario, ABC was allowed to continue filming.

Rather than switching locations, Apple said the show’s creators were asked to change the subject matter of Wednesday’s episode, which was supposed to focus on a mock theft. Due to concerns about a recent armed robbery on the Avenue, the crew instead filmed a nanny abuse scenario for the series, which stages ethically challenging situations and follows the reactions of bystanders.

“We did not move locations for the second day,” Apple said Wednesday evening.

Original Story: The Greenwich Time reports:

“We told them, `You can’t film here,’ ” Dustin Anderson, the executive assistant to First Selectman Peter Tesei, said, describing the Tuesday filming around Greenwich Avenue of the hit ABC show “What Would You Do?” as “disruptive.”

Capt. Tim Berry, of the Greenwich Police Department, said the scene that caused a stir Tuesday involved an intoxicated adult who needs to be driven by a child.
