Al Roker Drops by ‘Katie’ For Surprise Birthday Celebration
Today is Katie Couric‘s birthday, and she showed up to work with no idea what was in store for her on “Katie.” Couric didn’t know who her would be on the show — the lineup included Betty White, J.R. Martinez and former “Today” show pal Al Roker — until they appeared on stage. Bravo’s Andy Cohen acted as the show’s co-host, jokingly calling it “Watch What Happens Live to Katie.”
Roker, who arrived on the set hiding his face behind an umbrella, brought along an old clip of Couric singing backup for Stevie Wonder on the “Today” show alongside Matt Lauer. “This was awful. I thought we burned this tape!” Couric said.
