MSNBC has published a press release touting the fact that it was the first cable news network to report Al-Zarqawi’s death. “Last night’s coverage proves yet again that MSNBC is the place for breaking news 24-7,” it says.

MSNBC.com was the first American TV news site to post the breaking news. The site “broke the news online at 3:07 a.m., one half hour before the news appeared on CNN.com, and nearly an hour before ABCNews.com, Yahoo! News and CBSNews.com.” How?
