Alex Wallace To Become NBC News VP

First on TVNewser: Weekend Today executive producer Alex Wallace has been tapped to fill Bill Wheatley‘s shoes as vice president at NBC News, two sources tell TVNewser.

Wallace was named EP of Weekend Today and senior producer of Today in March. At the time, Neal Shapiro praised her “extensive background in news.” (An NBC spokesperson didn’t immediately reply to a request for confirmation Monday.)

Prior to joining NBC in March, Wallace was the senior broadcast producer for CBS’ The Early Show. Prior to that, she was a senior producer for both The Early Show and CBS This Morning. She was also previously a producer for the CBS Evening News. She has received six News and Documentary Emmy Awards…
