Ann Curry, ‘Showing Some Love’ to Bob Costas
It all started when Ann Curry finished reading a news story this morning on Today… and then attempted to top it off with a joke.
The story concerned an Italian manufacturer’s new “stand-up” airplane seats, which allow just 23 inches of leg room.
“Finally, an airline that is undersized,” Curry concluded, “for people like Bob Costas!”
As Today‘s anchors and crew howled — both in laughter and in protest — Curry said, “No, we love Bob. Bob, we love you. We kid because we love Bob.”
Matt Lauer then pointed to a man standing outside the studios and said, “Look at this guy, he’s going ‘I can’t even believe she did that.’ That came out of the left field. That’s good — showing some love to our NBC colleagues.”
