AP Picks Up The Bob Costas Refusal

costasaugust192.jpgFollowing up on TVNewser’s exclusive about Bob Costas, the Associated Press ledes: “While some cable TV hosts are making their living off the Natalee Holloway case this summer, Bob Costas is having none of it.”

Most of today’s e-mailers have been supportive of Costas:

> “Good for Bob! I applaud him.”

> “You go, Bob Costas! A lot of us are sick of tabloid stories, too.”

> “I agree with Bob Costas, I am sick and tired of those programs, enough is enough.”

But e-mails from the competition suggest that CNN/U.S. president Jon Klein isn’t doing a good job: “Wasn’t Costas hired to be the substitute host for Larry King Live? Why in the world would Jonathan Klein allow a substitute host to thumb his nose at CNN’s editorial calls?,” an e-mailer asks.

(By the way, thank you to the anonymous tipster from the water cooler!)
