On September 11, 2001 Ashleigh Banfield was on the streets of Manhattan, reporting on the immediate aftermath of the 9/11 attacks for NBC News. As it does every year on 9/11, MSNBC replayed NBC’s coverage of the attacks in full.
During the 11 AM hour this morning, her reporting could be seen as it happened on MSNBC, while on CNN she anchored “Newsroom,” where she marked the anniversary of the attacks and covered the ceremonies remembering them.
Banfield was not the only personality to appear on MSNBC and another network today. Katie Couric anchored “Today” on 9/11/01, and today marks day two of her syndicated talk show “Katie.”
