Bloomberg’s Matthew Winkler to Receive
Lifetime Achievement Award

New York – October 31, 2007– The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) today announced the nominees for the 5th Annual Emmy® Awards for Business & Financial Reporting. The awards ceremony will be held on Tuesday, December 4 (11:30 reception, 12:00 noon luncheon) at the Rainbow Room in New York City and will be sponsored by Citigroup, Inc.

The Emmy Awards for Business & Financial Reporting recognize outstanding achievement in business & financial reporting telecast or webcast from July 1, 2006 thru June 30, 2007. Nominations in 7 categories were announced today.

Also at the 5th Annual Emmy Awards for Business & Financial Reporting, Matthew Winkler, Editor-in-Chief of Bloomberg News, a global news service he founded in1990 with Michael Bloomberg, and a member of the Board of Directors of Bloomberg L.P., will receive this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award in Business & Financial Reporting. Bloomberg News provides content to Bloomberg Markets, a monthly magazine; 375 newspapers in 65 countries; Bloomberg Television and Radio, a 24-hour network reaching more than 80 million households in the U.S. and 12 countries in seven languages.

“This year’s Business and Financial Emmy entries focused on a wide range of important economic stories,” said Peter Price, President/CEO, National Television Academy, “including the subprime mortgage meltdown, the plight of un-insured and underinsured Americans, and the looming fiscal crisis resulting from unsustainable levels of federal spending. This is our fifth year honoring outstanding economic reporting, and this year’s nominees represent the best of an important body of work.”

"The scope and depth of this year's reporting is impressive” said Bill Small, Chairman of the News and Documentary Emmys. "The quality was exceedingly high and the judges were hard pressed to choose from among this year's many excellent entries."

A list of nominees for the 5th Annual Emmy Awards for Business & Financial Reporting is also available on the NATAS website, www.emmyonline.tv.
