Bob Simon drinks 20-year-old Scotch off 2,000-year-old glacier
If you watched “60 Minutes” last night, you might have caught a Bob Simon profile of innovative wildlife filmmaker John Downer. The piece brought Simon and his crew to the Arctic circle, where robotic cameras captured polar bears up close.
In addition to the cameras, parkas, gloves and guns — protection from the polar bears — the team also brought a 20-year-old Scotch, which Simon took a taste of. “This is not an ad or a promo, I will not tell you what brand of Whiskey I’m drinking. But I will tell you it’s not Scotch on the rocks despite appearances. It’s scotch on glacier.”
The bit didn’t end up in the final story, but it was part of a “60 Minutes Overtime” piece which you can see after the jump.
