Brian Williams Filling In for Matt Lauer on ‘Today’ Friday

“NBC Nightly News” anchor Brian Williams will continue his “Rock Center” publicity tour later this week with a stop on NBC’s morning program “Today.”

Williams will not be a guest however: instead he will be filling in for Matt Lauer, who will be out that morning. Williams last co-hosted “Today” back in February 2009, when he filled in for Meredith Vieira:

Williams will also anchor “Nightly” that evening. The NBC anchor always seems to be game for an appearance, whether on one of the network’s comedy shows, or on the local station when the anchors need a break, as happened earlier this year following Hurricane Irene.
