‘Brian Williams for President, Please?’ Holds Kick-off Campaign Rally in NYC Tonight

Brian Williams has a lot going for him: “NBC Nightly News” has been the top-rated evening news program for 95 straight weeks. He has an upcoming newsmagazine set to debut on NBC. And now, there’s a chance he might be president.

Well, okay. Not really. But there is a group of people — aptly titled “Brian Williams for President, Please?” — that would like him to be president. And they’re holding a campaign rally tonight at the People’s Improv Theater in New York City.

The group, who define themselves as “politically active Brian Williams supporters who feel that Brian Williams has the gravitas, chiseled jaw and general awesomeness that this country needs in a president,” have campaign buttons, a website and even political ads, like this one:
