Cablers Cover Hijacking of AeroMexico Flight

This is kind of rare. As the cable news channels cover the hijacking of an AeroMexico flight in Mexico City, they are all taking the same video feed from Mexican broadcaster TV Azteca. CNN’s Cuban-born Rick Sanchez, who anchors the 3pmET hour for CNN/U.S, is translating the live coverage from TV Azteca. NBC producer Maria Alcon is providing translation for MSNBC viewers. Correspondent Steve Harrigan, based in Miami specializing in Latin America, contributed to FNC’s coverage.

> Update: Televisa is also now providing live coverage which the U.S. cable channels are also using (and it includes several annoying ‘Noticieros Televisa’ logos all over the screen.)

> Update 2: Reporting times — Bloomberg – 2:57pmET; FNC – 3:06pmET; CNN – 3:13pmET; MSNBC – 3:17pmET.
