Cablers Cover Mid-Air Collision Over Hudson River

A tour helicopter and a small airplane collided over the eastern edge of Hoboken, New Jersey just after NoonET today. The crafts plummeted into the Hudson River just down river from where the US Airways Flight 1549 crash landed earlier this year.

Of the cable news networks, CNN was first to report the news at 12:20pmET. Fox Business Network, which was in live programming at the time, reported the news at 12:24. MSNBC broke in to their taped programming at 12:32; Fox News, which was in taped business programming, reported the news at 12:42.

CNN and FNC have been in continuing coverage; MSNBC has been producing live updates.
