Cablers Cover Shooting On Capitol Hill

The cable news channels continue on and off coverage of a shooting near the Capitol. Politico reports Capitol Police shot and killed a man after he pulled a gun on them, then tried to flee from a traffic stop.

Fox News Channel was the first cable news network to report on the shooting at 5:43pmET. MSNBC and CNN, each during shows produced out of Washington (Hardball and The Situation Room), reported the news at 5:49 and 5:50, respectively.
