Happy holidays, cablers — here’s a belated present from the embattled governor of Illinois. Rod Blagojevich has decided to name a replacement to the Senate seat vacated by President-elect Barack Obama.
MSNBC first reported the news (attributed to the Chicago Tribune) around 12:20pmET, then Fox News, then CNN. And the cablers will be getting another gift: a 3pmET live news conference announcing the pick.
The CNN chyron kind of says it all:
- Cable Network Ranker: Week of December 2
- Broadcast, Cable Networks Up Early For Mandela Memorial Service
- Coverage Plans for Mandela Memorial Service
- Norah O’Donnell, Brianna Keilar Moderate Panels at Politico's 'Women Rule' Event
