CBS Evening News Wins Murrow for Best Newscast
For the second year in a row, the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric has won the Edward R. Murrow award for best evening newscast. CBS News submitted the broadcast of Nov. 12, 2008 to the RTNDA judges. The program led with the economic bailout coverage from correspondents Anthony Mason and Sharyl Attkisson. Other reports came from Armen Keteyian, Seth Doane, Mark Strassmann, and Steve Hartman.

CBS News and Sports president Sean McManus says the broadcast, “simply is the best daily news program on television,” adding, “once again, the industry experts are giving CBS Evening News the critical acclaim it deserves.”
