CBS News Clarifies Afghan Warlord Story

cbsreport_6-25.JPGCBS News has added an editor’s note and changed the headline of the CBSNews.com version of a story featuring an interview with an Afghan warlord. The interview, billed as “exclusive,” aired earlier this month on the Evening News and remains on CBSNews.com.

ERSNews.com first reported the news that the CBS story gave the impression that correspondent Lara Logan had spoken with the warlord. Turns out, Logan fronted the story with video supplied by a stringer.

The headline was changed late last night, and the editor’s note reads, “The description of this story has been updated to clarify that while the exclusive interview with Afghan warlord Gulbeddin Hekmatyar was with CBS News, it was not with correspondent Lara Logan.”
