Check That Math Again: 300 Percent Is Still A Lot, But It’s Not 400 Percent

I have a couple questions about this Page Six item about Keith Olbermann‘s potential pay raise, titled “Keith Faces Salary Shock.”

It says “the obnoxious MSNBC gabber is trying to squeeze a whopping 400 percent raise out of his cash-strapped network.” But wouldn’t a raise from $1 million to $4 million be a 300 percent increase? (Check the math here.)

Also: It refers to the “popular Olbermann Watch Web site,” but according to these traffic stats, the site averages just 1,426 visitors and 3,649 page views a day. That’s “popular?”
