First on TVNewser: CNBC Asia president Jeremy Pink has been named the new CNBC SVP, effective June 8.

Jonathan Wald left the position at the end of March.

In an internal memo obtained by TVNewser, CNBC president Mark Hoffman writes, "Jeremy knows the brand well and has proven results on the programming and commercial side of the business."

Pink joined CNBC as VP of news and programming in Europe in 2000, and has served as president of CNBC Asia, in Singapore, for the past three years.

"During the transition process, Tyler Mathisen will continue to have day-to-day responsibility for Business News, before returning to his role as Managing Editor at CNBC," writes Hoffman.

During the transition process, Tyler Mathisen will continue to have day-to-day responsibility for Business News, before returning to his role as Managing Editor at CNBC. Tyler has done an excellent job in the last several weeks. I am grateful for his support and wisdom during this time. Tyler is a true team player, a respected voice in the world of business news and a terrific asset for CNBC.

CNBC has an extraordinarily strong veteran team in place in Asia that will allow us to manage seamlessly during this transitional period. Given that we want to build on the tremendous momentum we are experiencing in Asia, we have already initiated a search to replace Jeremy to ensure that CNBC continues to be the fastest growing source and most respected voice in business in Asia.

Jeremy will spend a week at our global headquarters in Englewood Cliffs beginning this Friday and will be in EC full time beginning June 8th.
