| “I’ll admit it. I wasn’t prepared for what I saw. And I can only begin to understand what it was like for the people who lived there.” He said residents of the lower 9th ward described it “as looking like a movie set.” “I’ve been in New Orleans only since Monday, and the pictures on TV really don’t do it justice. Seeing it in person, I can’t seem to wrap my head around it. Even as I read over my notes, I can’t believe it. Maybe it’ll get easier. Somehow I doubt it.” |
