Couric To CBS: Acting Carefree As Her Final Day On Today Draws Near

katiemay29.jpgThe “Goodbye Katie Couric” press tour officially started on Sunday with dueling stories in the NY Post and Daily News. An advance AP story followed a few hours later.

Of her Wednesday farewell, “I haven’t really thought about it and worried about it,” Couric told David Bauder. “I’ll do what I’ve always done for 15 years and be myself. I’ll react the way I react.”

She told Richard Huff the same thing. “Couric said she hasn’t put a lot of thought into how she’ll react Wednesday morning, when she tells longtime partner Matt Lauer goodbye,” he writes.

But I’m sure Katie has thought about every minute of Wednesday’s show. After all, she’s executive-producing her own goodbye! An insider put it this way: “Katie is 100% all over her farewell show…”
