"Looking at Katie Couric's ratings trend over the last several weeks, it's interesting to note that they just don't budge much," an e-mailer notes. "ABC has fluctuated between 8 and 10 million viewers, NBC between 9 and 10 million while CBS is stagnant at 7.5 and 8 million. I'm not sure if that's good or bad for CBS. It's certainly not good that they're in third place, but the fact that they at least have a solidly loyal audience that doesn't flip around is at least somewhat encouraging. Looking at the trends, it seems as though ABC is the station people flip back and fourth to for whatever reason."
