Defying Journalist Ban, ABC’s Sciutto Covers Zimbabwe Election

Although foreign journalists are banned from Zimbabwe, ABC News’ Senior Foreign correspondent Jim Sciutto was there this weekend to cover the country’s controversial presidential election. ABC says Sciutto was the only American network TV reporter to do so.

A CNN spokesperson tells TVNewser it has resources in Zimbabwe, but that, for security reasons, CNN’s reports do not feature a named journalist.

Sciutto’s coverage aired on today’s Good Morning America, this weekend’s World News, and on ABCNews.com. He will continue to file reports today for various ABC News platforms.
