Developing: Mike And Juliet Renewed for ’08-’09

m&j_1-23.jpgTVNewser has learned that Fox Twentieth Television has renewed The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet for a second season. Insiders tell TVNewser an official announcement is coming shortly. The deal is expected to run through September 2009.

The syndicated morning show premiered in just 40% of the country last January, but the program was picked up for a national roll-out in September. The ratings for the show struggled in some major markets, due to stiff competition from shows like Oprah, The View and Regis and Kelly.

In December, Broadcasting & Cable reported that Fox O&O stations were expected to pick up the show in the “next few weeks,” but now it appears the pickup may be much greater than first reported.

Co-hosts Mike Jerrick and Juliet Huddy are former Fox News Channel anchors, previously hosting Dayside and Fox & Friends Weekend.
