Diane Sawyer ’20/20′ with Rep. Gabrielle Giffords’ astronaut husband Mark Kelly is second for the hour

A special edition of “20/20″ featuring Diane Sawyer‘s interview with Rep. Gabrielle Giffords‘ husband, astronaut Mark Kelly, finished second in its timeslot drawing 6.18 million Total Viewers.

“The Congresswoman & the Astronaut: An American Story of Love and Strength” gave ABC its best  Tuesday 10pm audience in six weeks, but came in a distant second to CBS’ “The Good Wife” with 11.34M viewers and had fewer viewers than watch Sawyer’s “World News” on most nights.

In the A25-54 demo rating, “20/20″ (1.9) was third behind “Wife” (3.2) and NBC’s “Parenthood” (2.5).

The news today from Tucson, Arizona is that Rep. Giffords is expected to be released from the hospital Friday.
