Diane Sawyer Honors Departing ‘World News’ Colleagues
“ABC World News” anchor Diane Sawyer ended her newscast Friday evening with a brief tribute to some of her ABC News coworkers, saying, with a pause, “For all of our treasured colleagues at ABC News, good night.”
For some context, the sign-off came as ABC News completed the process of cutting 25% of jobs across the news organizations. The majority of those leaving the network took voluntary buyouts.
Afterward, ABC rolled credits with the names of “World News” employees who had left the network during the buyout process.
