Emilio Romano Named Telemundo President, News Chief Ramon Escobar Steps Down

Emilio Romano
NBCUniversal’s Spanish-language channel Telemundo has named Emilio Romano president. Romano replaces Don Browne, who retired from the NBCU earlier this year. In his new role Romano will over see the broadcast network and its 14 O&Os, as well as the company’s news and sports division and entertainment studio.
Separately, B&C’s Michael Malone reports that Telemundo’s top news executive, Ramon Escobar, is stepping down from his role. Browne had been a mentor to Escobar, who joined Telemundo inĀ 2010. Escobar is a former VP of news programming at MSNBC.
