Evening News Ratings: NBC Benefits from Week 2 of Olympics

ENLogos_2.jpgIn the second week of the 2010 Winter Olympics, “NBC Nightly News,” which broadcast from Vancouver, averaged its largest audience since January 17, 2005 and was the most-watched evening news program in total viewers and the A25-54 demo.

All three programs were up in total viewers week to week. “ABC World News” was the only program to grow week-to-week in the A25-54 demo, growing +110k.

Year-to-year, “CBS Evening News” reduced the second place gap by 320,000 total viewers and 440,000 in the demo.

Numbers for the week of Feb. 22:

  NBC ABC CBS
• Total Viewers: 11,120,000 8,130,000 6,470,000
• A25-54: 3,380,000 2,380,000 2,020,000
