Evening News Ratings: Week of Aug. 30
There was a bounce-back for the three evening newscasts last week.
A week after the combined averages of “NBC Nightly News”, ABC’s “World News” and the “CBS Evening News” hit their lowest-ever level at 18.7 million Total Viewers, the three shows averaged 20.4 million last week.
Nightly News with Brian Williams led the pack topping the 8 million Total Viewer mark for the first time since the week of April 5, 2010. “World News with Diane Sawyer” trailed Nightly by more than 1 million viewers, followed by Katie Couric‘s Evening News which saw its best week since June 7.
Coverage of Hurricane Earl surely drove viewers to the newscasts.
